Updated! I’ve updated my Sunflowers video with improved editing and some fresh sunflower photographs from 2023.
Sunflowers for Ukraine
The bright yellow of the sunflowers combined with the deep blue summer sky echo the proud blue and yellow of the Ukrainian flag. As the sunflowers stand together in the photograph, I hope that lovers of self-determination, human rights, democracy, and peace stand together and oppose those violate these precious principles.
Sunflowers for Ukraine
As a landscape photographer, I don’t often have the opportunity to offer a photograph as a political statement. I named this photograph Sunflowers for Ukraine to recognize the significance of the sunflower to the Ukrainian people. I pray that leaders, despite their politics, open their hearts to those who suffer in times of war, set aside war, and embrace dialogue as a way to settle their differences.
