Coat Hooks
The black and white medium is a good way to highlight shape, pattern, and light. It's fun to find a visually interesting pattern in things that one sees every day.
Coat Hooks
Over the weekend my wife did some painting in our entrance way. Not wanting yellow paint drips to decorate our coats, she moved everything out for the job. This left empty coat hooks, which combined with the late afternoon light created an interesting composition. The black and white medium is a good way to highlight shape, pattern, and light. It's fun to find a visually interesting pattern in things that one sees every day. As always, love your comments and feedback.

Red Pen
Photography is about light, colour, shape, and pattern. This photograph has it all. I was drawn to the way the morning light spotlit the red pen, which stood out in strong contrast to the top of the oak desk. I took the picture because I found the scene visually interesting. Does the photograph tell a story? What do you think? Let me know in the comments section.

Hex Keys
Once again, you have before you a study of shape, pattern, and light represented in a black and white photograph. I enjoy finding shapes and patterns just for their visual interest. I don't find any deep significance in this picture (maybe you do!). I just find it visually interesting and enjoy looking at it.
Hex Keys
Hex Keys is today's photograph in Kerry Enns Photography's Today at Home series. Today I took my camera into the garage. The garage is where I spend a lot of time when I'm working on my two or four-wheeled hobbies. Once again, you have before you a study of shape, pattern, and light represented in a black and white photograph. I enjoy finding shapes and patterns just for their visual interest. You might see some similarities between Hex Keys and other pictures that I've taken. I found a similar repeating pattern in Coat Hooks where the pattern fades into blur. I also see some connection to Metal, this time in the way the light plays across the pattern.
I hope you enjoy Today at Home: Hex Keys. As always, I love reading your comments and feedback.
